i tried reading netherland recently but i couldn’t get past all the cricket stuff. i am not a very sporty person, although i will confess i have watched a bit of the olympics. anyway i’ve heard a lot of good things and i give up on a LOT of books so the fact that it’s just been longlisted for the booker makes me think i should have given it more of a chance. maybe later in the summer…
