book blog by a teenage girl who does not just read "books written for girls" although obviously she does sometimes.
this is an image from a production of the play arcadia by tom stoppard. it was the first book i read this year, and so, i feel, a good start. i’m afraid i am not very up on my myth and lack a classical education in general (although i have media studies gcse, so that is something) but i enjoyed this a lot. it came up in my english AEA earlier this summer but even that couldn’t kill it. the multiple timelines, the literary allusions, the potentially overbearing and irritating use of language… no. i just had a lot of fun. i haven’t seen it performed, but i would like to.
