our aspirations are wrapped up in books

book blog by a teenage girl who does not just read "books written for girls" although obviously she does sometimes.

  1. the second book i read this year, special topics in calamity physics. this is another one filled with endless literary reference, allusion and discussion. but that was largely the point. the twists were incredible and this is another book where i really fell for the characters. i wish i could live in this book. there are few books that i would want to live in, but this is one of them, i think. at about the same time i read this i tried a book by daniel handler called the basic 8, which i found similar, but i finished this and never made it through the daniel handler one. that’s because with this book i really cared.
